Student Arrested For Filming Porn In Oregon State Library (Photos)

by Emily Arata

In movies and television, a college library is the place to get your freak on. But, a college student who tried it in real life is set to face serious consequences.

Kendra Sunderland, a 19-year-old former Oregon State University student, was arrested Tuesday for a nearly 20-minute-long pornographic video she allegedly filmed in the school's library last fall as a freshman.

Filming a pornographic video in a public setting constitutes public indecency.

Sunderland, who failed to enroll in classes this past semester, seems to have recorded the video for a live, on-camera chat service.

The clip was later uploaded to PornHub, where it received a reported 260,000 views before it was removed. And Sunderland's clip was anything but a secret on campus. Rumors of its existence reportedly spread through social media apps like Snapchat and Yik Yak.

Although OSU administrators say security guards constantly patrol the Valley Library, its 340,000 square feet make it impossible to monitor every nook and corner.

An OSU spokesman since told press the university disavows any behavior that keeps students from feeling "safe" on campus.

The Smoking Gun reports Sunderland, slated to face a judge, faces a fine of more than $6,000 and a potential one-year prison sentence.
