We have all known that one student in our class that had a terribly thick Mexican accent. We know the feeling of trying to interact with someone with a thick accent and not being able to understand a thing they are saying. Yes, it can be funny at first, but it can become frustrating.

Comedian Jose Barrientos is Hispanic and bilingual, but his accent is purely American.

His Speech 101 classmates, however, don’t know that, so he decided to play a little prank on them during the whole semester and capture it on video.

Recognizing room for some quality shenanigans, Barrientos decided to slip into a thick Mexican affectation for the entire duration of the semester. After delivering three speeches over the course of four months, it was finally time for the grand reveal.
