There’s a theory that homophobia is so prevalent in the red states because the elders of this region teach their children to believe that gay people are evil.

This theory was confirmed when a student in Alabama recorded his teacher making some pretty disgusting anti-gay remarks in his class.

Bob Grisham, a psychology teacher and football coach at Lauderdale County High School, didn’t know he was being recorded when he expressed his hatred for homosexuals to some of his students a few days ago.

Once Grisham heard that the following comments had gone viral, he issued a public apology to the TimesDaily saying: “I misspoke in a debate-type situation,” he said. “I have no hatred toward anyone or any group. People that know my heart, they know that.”

The school board is currently deciding whether or not they should fire Grisham because of the reputation his comments have given this town in Alabama.

Still wondering why gay teens are having such a hard time feeling safe in high school?
