Study Reveals That Most Men Who Cheat Do So With A Less Attractive Woman
According to Business Week, most people who have affairs cheat with less-attractive people than their partners. Although it seems to be logical to cheat with more attractive people, 90 percent of cheaters would choose less attractive people to have affairs with.
“If you sat down with 20 people who’d had an affair and said, rate the person you had an affair with ‘better looking’ or ‘worse looking’ than your partner, almost 90 percent’ll say worse,” Biderman says.

The article continues on to say that cheating tends to happen while men are under some kind of influence, especially while men are drunk.
Additionally, cheating is not “an overtly malicious act for men,” but a genetic impulse. Although this does not justify the act, it explains why men might settle for women who are less attractive than their partners.
