A new scientific study carried out by the Sapporo Medical University in Japan has found that drinking a beer a day is very good for you.

All thanks to a chemical found naturally in the hops used to make the beer- humulone. Humulone has the ability to ward of a serious case of the sniffles as well as fight off a specific virus: Respiratory Syncytial- that can cause bronchitis and pneumonia in those that are younger, and cold/flu in adults.

Dr. Jun Fuchiamoto states:

“We are now studying the feasibility of applying humulone to food or non-alcoholic products. The challenge really is that the bitter taste is going to be difficult for children.”

There are also other perks to drinking beer on a regular basis:

” The folate found in beer may help to reduce homocysteine in the blood and lower homocysteine levels mean a lower risk of cardiovascular disease.

Lab studies have found constituents in beer that lower triglycerides and LDL cholesterol in mice.

Drinking one beer per day reduces blood clotting so some studies found that cardiovascular patients who drank one beer per day also lived longer.”

However, drinking beer, or any other alcohol, in large amounts remains very bad for your health.
