18-year-old Rebecca Bernardo from Brazil is hoping to raise money to cover her ailing mother’s medical expenses. Having exhausted what she believes to be all other options, she has decided to auction off her virginity via the Internet.

“I made up my mind right after my 18th birthday,” she told CNN. “That’s when my mother suffered a stroke.”

While her mother believes that her daughter “shouldn’t prostitute herself”, her neighbors think that this may be the only way for her to be able to care for her mother.

“She had no one to go to, no one to help,” said a neighbor, noting that Bernardo’s father is lone gone and older sister passed away several years ago. “This is the only solution she found.”

Bernardo has recently rejected a local TV Network’s offer to cover her mom’s medical expenses if she were to agree to put an end to the auction.

She says that she is looking to fund a relocation as well as pay for a caretaker to look after her bedridden mother. Currently, the highest bid is $35,000.

In Defense Of The Players: More Proof NBA Stars Shouldn’t Have To Take Pay Cuts

During the last lockout, NBA owners played a sleight of hand trick that will make them millions. Ownership of an NBA team should be regarded as an obscenely expensive hobby for the ultra-rich, but many owners framed their teams as businesses. We were told these “businesses” were hemorrhaging cash. Owners stalled a solid chunk of the […]
