The suspect accused of wounding 19 people at the New Orleans Mother’s Day parade has been arrested, facing 20 charges of attempted second-degree murder.
Nineteen-year-old Akein Scott was arrested Wednesday night in the Little Woods section of New Orleans, where he lives.
Scott was already facing a gun and drug possession charge and was out on bond at the time of Sunday’s shooting.
He was identified after police released a surveillance video that showed him running from the scene as the crowd watching the parade scattered in various directions.
More details are expected to be released from the New Orleans police department later today.
