This anti-Obama care ad definitely gets its message across. Nobody wants an insane caricature of Uncle Sam sneaking into the doctor’s office and probing our most intimate parts. But the ads provided no actual reason not to sign up. No numbers, no data, no arguments. Just pure emotional appeal.
Generation Opportunity is a really manipulative name for an organization bankrolled by the Koch Brothers, David and Charles. The Koch family is the real life equivalent of the wealthy string pullers, the “Motch Brothers,” in Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis political satire “The Campaign.”
By asking people to opt out of Obamacare, the Koch brothers are hoping to sabotage the financing of it, making it more expensive for everyone. Insurance works because everyone pays in a little bit, so that if anything major happens, the communal fund will help pay the exorbitant healthcare costs. If enough people opt out the whole program would collapse and need extra funding from the government.
