“I love fire and wheelchairs, so I thought why not put them together,” said Phoenix’s Lance Greathouse to Metro UK.
About ten years ago, 52-year-old dental equipment engineer was inspired by his brother Brent, who died in 2004 from a rare form of Parkinson’s Disease, to start a company that builds eccentric wheelchairs for the disabled to reflect their personalities.
Perhaps Greathouse Labs’ finest creation is “Lord Humungous,” a mobility scooter equipped with a flame thrower that can spit fire at distances of up to 35 feet.
According to Metro UK, Greathouse spent a month building the video game-like contraption out of an electric golf cart, a helicopter seat, all-terrain tires and old dental machines.
It reportedly cost him around just $1,000 to make.
“I would like to see some street gang member mess with someone in one of my chairs,” he added.
