Twilight Fan Killed in Comic-Con Accident
A Twilight fan was killed while trying to cross the street to the San Diego Convention Center earlier this week. The 53-year-old fan, known as “Gisella G.,” was struck by a car as she was trying to camp out for the Twilight Saga panel at Comic-Con.
Although the panel begins on Thursday, fans have already started lining up to get the best seats. One of Gisella’s fellow campers said that Gisella has been there for the past two days, at least.
Gisella was crossing the street at 9 am when she was hit by a Subaru Outback. She tried to avoid the car but tripped and fell into the vehicle.
Gisella was immediately taken to the hospital, where she died of her injuries.
She will be honored at Thursday’s panel. Lionsgate released the following statement in response to the accident:
Lionsgate, Summit and the entire Twilight community are saddened by the death of a Comic-Con fan today due to a traffic accident during the hours leading up to this year’s convention in San Diego. Our thoughts and condolences go out to the victim’s family and friends. She will be respectfully remembered this Thursday in Hall H.
Gisella’s friends started a Twitter petition to get her a moment of silence during Thursday’s panel.
