A 44-year-old Chicago man was killed by his pet pitbull Wednesday night, discovered by his wife around 8:15 PM with the dog chomping away at his neck.

Charles Hagerman of Cook County has died at the hands of his own beloved dog, with his entire body covered in lacerations.

Hagerman’s wife came home, horrified by the sight of it.

Police have yet to determine whether it was just the work of the single dog, or if their other dog was involved in the incident.

Hagerman was pronounced dead at the scene, and the Cook County Medical Examiner has deemed the incident an accident.

The question that is really eating away at everybody (horribly inappropriate pun intended) is “Who let the dogs out?”
