Being the founding country of Twitter, you’d think that the US would be way ahead of the rest of the world- and you’d be correct. But, oddly enough, the most active city in the world isn’t in the US. It’s in Indonesia.

According to the study conducted by Paris-based research firm Semiocast, Geolocation Analysis of Twitter Accounts and Tweets, the most actively twittering city in the world is Jakarta, Indonesia. New York, Tokyo London, and Sao Paulo make up the rest of the top 5.

Then, coming in at number 6 ahead of Paris and LA, is Bandung, Indonesia. Bandung’s population is roughly 2.4 million while Jakarta’s is approximately 10 million.

The top 5 countries in terms of the number of Twitter accounts is the US, Brazil, Japan, the UK and Indonesia. Following them is India, Mexico, Canada, Spain and the Philippines to make up the top 10.

Having over 140 million active Twitter accounts, the U.S. has 27% of all Twitter users.

42 Thoughts That Go Through Your Head While Waiting In Line At Chipotle

Going to Chipotle typically leaves customers with a rush of different feelings, a roller coaster of emotions – if you will. Especially when you go during “rush hour,” which alludes to the windows of operation during lunchtime and dinnertime when it’s, more or less, f*cking mayhem. Chances are, if you step into Chipotle sometime around […]

Why The Most Important Part Of Conflict Resolution Is True Reconciliation

Fights occur in every relationship — whether familial, platonic or romantic — because no one agrees with everything loved ones say and do. It’s simply human nature. Fights can start over pretty much anything, and sometimes, they are resolved shortly after they begin. But then, there are some that linger and still hurt, long after […]

Guys Experiment By Asking People For Food, Only Homeless Man Shares

The guys behind YouTube prank channel OckTV had an idea for a surprisingly emotional new video. Unlike most of their other videos (which are pranks), this one would be a social experiment. Individually, they took to the streets of NYC and asked people who were eating if they’d be willing to share their food. Responses […]

Guy Blows People’s Minds By Blowing Girls’ Clothes Off Their Backs (Video)

Sex sells, and unless humans figure out asexual reproduction sometime in the next few billion years, I’m willing to assume it will continue to be something the people care about until humanity no longer exists. Prank videos, which largely achieve success by finding the lowest common denominator and somehow figuring out how to divide it […]
