A West Virginia Pizza Hut was forced to close after a video emerged of its manager peeing into a dish room sink.
While the incident occurred after business hours, WTRF-7 reports, authorities ruled that urinating in the area where people wash supplies is a violation of health code.
There’s currently a sign on the restaurant’s door saying it’s temporarily closed due to “conditions within the establishment constituting a substantial hazard to the public health.”
The restaurant will most likely re-open in a few weeks.
Pizza Hut released this statement as soon as it got word of the video:
“First of all, we are embarrassed by the actions of this individual. Pizza Hut has zero tolerance for violations of our operating standards, and the local owner of the restaurant took immediate action and terminated the employee involved.
While the isolated incident occurred during non-business hours and did not involve any food tampering, we follow strict safety and handling procedures and the restaurant has since been closed. We apologize to our customers of Kermit, West Virginia and those in our system who have been let down by this situation.”
For now, customers will just have to resort to eating actual pizza.
