One woman posted a video of herself seductively eating a perfectly ripe banana. Normally, this wouldn't be news -- even by Elite Daily standards -- but it is now thanks to the Chinese government expressing their plans to ban innocuous displays of fruit affection.

According to Daily Mail, China wants to ban webcam users from live-streaming the "erotic" consumption of bananas. Live video blogs have grown in popularity in China as of late, posing a problem for government officials who want to put an end to this type of content. This explains why they've also banned video bloggers from wearing stockings and suspenders while live-streaming.

As the BBC reports, one social media user made the brilliant point,

They will all start eating cucumbers, and if that's no good, yams.

Other users noted, "How do they decide what's provocative when eating a banana," and "Can male live-streamers still eat them?"

Where there's a will, there is a way. Watch the video above if you care about defending the freedom to eat your bananas however you choose.
