True story.

Jordan Buranskas and her boyfriend, Jack Mackercher, had fallen asleep while watching "Mr. Robot" in Bucktown, Chicago, when the skin-crawling incident took place.

The couple looked at surveillance footage after they noticed that Jordan's purse had gone missing on Monday morning.

To their horror, they spotted a man at the top of the stairs. He was looking at them and the TV for a full 15 minutes (because apparently, burglars have all the time in the world).

Jack told ABC7,

I'm like, 'Why are you at the top of the stairs, wearing a white hoodie before we went to bed?' She's like, 'I wasn't at the top of the stairs.' So that's when you go flush and start to freak out a little bit.

*Shudder*

The burglar broke in through an upstairs window at around 3:30 am.

Jordan added, "He stood there for about five minutes the first time, then walked away, then came back and hovered over us again for another five minutes."
