This Woman Just Found Out Her Husband Secretly Divorced Her 20 Years Ago

Think your battle with ghosting is rough? Think again. One woman found out after 20 years of marriage that her husband actually divorced her right after their wedding.

UPROXX reports 59-year-old Cristina Carta Villa didn't realize she wasn't married until a tax bill arrived at her home without her name on it. After 20 years of living together, she had to find out the hard way their marriage was a fraud. Her "husband," who is now 90 years old, allegedly filed for divorce just months after their wedding without her knowledge.

She is now suing him and in court documents has said she,

...has no recollection of [giving] any authorization to anyone to proceed with a divorce, or even thinking about divorce from the man she had just recently married.

If she did give legal authorization of the divorce, court papers claim she was “surreptitiously impaired, drugged or misled” into doing it.

But why? Why would someone secretly divorce their new wife and then continue to live with her for 20 years?! Because of money, says Carta Villa.
