If you're obsessed with doin' it for the 'Gram, the results of a new study are about to make for pretty grim reading.

Instagram users are narcissistic attention-seekers who require constant validation and approval from their peers, apparently.

Shocking, right? I mean, a lot of Instagram pics are people showing off or posting the only flattering selfie out of the hundreds they took, so who would have thought it's a hotbed of vanity?

Data obtained by LendEDU has confirmed what we already know: Out of all the social media apps on your phone, Insta is the one you turn to for an ego boost.

A survey of 10,000 millennials found 64 percent believe Instagram is the most narcissistic social media platform — with more votes than Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat combined.

It's going to break my heart to have to deliver this news to the #dogsofinstagram.

When you're not posting selfie after selfie on Instagram because you're obsessed with how you look, you're probably deleting that ill-advised pic that people just didn't love.

The survey found 78 percent of millennials know someone who has deleted a post because it didn't get enough likes.

For me, the weirdest part of that is it doesn't surprise me.

It basically confirms most people post to seek validation from others, and it's just another example of what a beautiful hot mess our generation is.

Or, as LendEDU says,

The world of social media has become so expansive and diverse that its original intent has become convoluted. For (millennials), social media is a powerful tool with the ability to create an entirely new persona, void of reality. The formula is quite simple. If you post enough artsy, chic pictures of yourself that rack up plenty of likes, then real-life accomplishments will not matter because the popularity of your social media accounts will determine your status on the social hierarchy.

Cheery, isn't it?

But you know what? Screw the haters.

If you don't care that you're trapped in a world of narcissism and getting likes on Instagram is what makes you happy, keep doing you.
