A Japanese Virtual Reality Porn Event Had To Shut Down For This Wild Reason

A Japanese virtual reality porn event was shut down after too many people came too early (and no, I don't mean "came" in the way you may think, so get your head out of the gutter).

The event, called "Adult VR Fest 01," gave attendees a taste of all that's new in the world of virtual sex technology by using an inflatable doll and a headset to simulate sexual intercourse.

One attendee who showed up at the event was quoted as saying, "The event didn't start until 2 pm, so I went there in high spirits an hour before then, but the street was already overflowing with people." The person went on to say that it was "impossible to keep the situation under control," and that while waiting for friends to arrive, they were afraid a riot could potentially start due to overcrowding.

Yikes. Hopefully there will be other events in the future.

The virtual pornography manifests itself on smartphones and computers, and users can "touch" digital sex dolls just by waving their hands. The founders of the technology said it isn't uncommon for small children to show up at these events, and in those cases, they feel "inappropriate" showing pornographic content.

But at the end of the day, Adult VR Fest 01 is meant to be adult-oriented, so the founders feel that anyone who objects to viewing that kind of content is "wrong" in feeling that way.

They go on to explain that because of the diverse make-up of the crowds that show up, they come up with different variations of events. These events provide an experience completely different than the experience one gets when visiting a brothel, for example. One oculus costs as much as $200 to $300, but it looks like the people of Japan are willing to pay.
