A Starbucks barista revealed on Reddit that she slaps stickers over the siren (or mermaid?) on the coffee cups, so that it ruins people's Instagram photos.

That green symbol really is the key ingredient for idiots who get off on uploading overly-filtered photos of their beverages. (FYI, no one cares what you're drinking.)

This dastardly barista wrote,

My petty joy is putting stickers on the siren logo when annoying teenagers order millions of fraps at once so their Instagram posts are ruined ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ it's the little things.

That's both cruel and funny. It really is the little things in life.

So, there you have it: If you get a sticker on your iced coffee, you've probably angered the barista.
