My fellow candy queens and sugar fiends, it's finally happening: Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory is opening for real.
Set to open later this year at Universal Studios Orlando Resort, the attraction, dubbed the “Toothsome Chocolate Factory,” is closely based on Willy Wonka's imaginary warehouse of all things sweet and delicious. That means, above all, satisfying your sweet tooth (or teeth) is the name of the game here.
The steampunk-style wonderland will include a fully-functional chocolate factory, which guests can visit to learn how different chocolate treats are made, as well as a restaurant with an extensive menu featuring both full meals (brunch, lunch and dinner) and, of course, a lot of desserts. Personally, I don't understand why anyone would eat vegetables when there's chocolate, but to each his own. I guess.
There may not be a hot fudge river or edible candy walls, but this mecca of all things sweet is the next best thing to Willy Wonka's OG Chocolate Factory. The Candy Man would be proud.
