The No. 3 ranked tennis player in the world is swearing off the use of swearing. Andy Murray, who has a reputation of shouting obscenities during matches, is making an effort to clean up his act. The 25-year old has received multiple warnings about his bad language before, including most recently at the Rome Masters.

“Obviously, me saying shit or whatever is bad and wrong, and it’s something I want to try to stop doing,” the Scottish born player told the Daily Record.

He goes on to say that he believes foreign players get away with shouting worse things because the umpires cannot understand what they are saying.

“But it isn’t as bad as some of the stuff the foreign players come out with. I wouldn’t want to name any names, but some of what they say is ghastly.”

Murray has targeted next month’s Australian Open as the beginning of his no-cursing campaign.
