The Boston Celtics have somehow found a way to revitalize themselves after nearly getting swept by the Knicks and last night in New York, they pushed the series to a game-six in Boston. So it should come to no surprise that with the match up at 3-2, things are beginning to heat up.
After the conclusion of yesterday’s game at MSG, players almost got into it while exiting to their respective locker rooms. Most notably Jordan Crawford and Carmelo Anthony exchanged words and if you can reap lip, you know that nothing good was said.
As the two crossed paths, you can clearly see Crawford mouth the words,”My boy f*cked your wife.” This comes just months after the incident between Melo and Kevin Garnett spiraled out of control.
While Carmelo didn’t let it get to him, Knicks guard Raymond Felton took exception and had to be restrained by Celtics players. Anthony displayed great maturity by not even responding as he knows he needs to stay focused. Melo spoke the Washington Post following the game and showed the kind of mindset he is in.
“I’m not thinking about Jordan Crawford right now.” “I don’t even think he deserves for you to be typing about him.”
That sounds like a champion’s mentality to me. Don’t pay any mind to some punk coming off the bench. He doesn’t even come close to Melo’s level, so why would he be worried about him?
The Knicks should be focused on going into Boston on Friday and ripping their hearts out of the arena. And with Carmelo not even being phased by little things like these, it looks like it’s going down.
