As the struggling New York Jets were attempting to run the clock out and the Arizona Cardinals decide to call a play that would allow the Jets to score so that they could get the ball back with 2 minutes left in the game.
When the play call was made two Cardinals had a war of words that apparently ended in someone being spat on.
Defensive lineman Darnell Dockett disagreed with the play call that Safety Kerry Rhodes made at the end of the game and it got so heated that it was said that Dockett spit in Rhodes face.
The Cardinals tried to keep this under wraps with Head Coach Ken Whisenhunt saying “we generally prefer to keep internal matters like that within the team and not discuss them publicly.”
Rhodes says they were arguing but that there was no spit involved. Sadly while we focus on was is being coined as “Spitgate”, meanwhile the Cardinals has lost 8 straight games.
