DeAngelo Williams Will Pay For 53 Mammograms To Honor His Late Mother

by Adam Silvers

The NFL may be able to prevent Pittsburgh Steelers running back DeAngelo Williams from wearing pink outside of October, but there's nothing Roger Goodell and Co. can do to stop him from helping to fight breast cancer on his own dime.

The 32-year-old football player lost his mother, Sandra Hill, to breast cancer last year, and now he's going to pay out of pocket for 53 North Carolina women to receive mammograms. Williams spent just shy of a decade with the Carolina Panthers.

Why 53? You ask. That number represents each year of his mom's life.

This in an unbelievable gesture honoring Williams' mother and preaching awareness for women's health.
