Clearly, Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard isn’t exactly the greatest shooter of all-time but when you lose a shooting contest to a mascot, it’s pretty embarassing.

After the Los Angeles Lakers shootaround on Wednesday, the LA Kings mascot “Bailey” was hanging out and decided to challenge D-12 to a shooting contest.

Here are the details from ESPN’s Dave McMenamin and as a preface, a costumed Bailey had beaten Howard on a side court in a shooting contest moments before it got epic:

Dwight said it didn’t count unless it was on the main court. So Bailey beat him at free throws on the main court. Then Dwight moved the contest out to the NBA 3-point line. They shot 3s from the corner and Bailey, a man standing about 5-10 wearing a lion costume, beat Howard, a man standing 6-9 and wearing his basketball practice uniform and sneakers as the first person to make five 3s.

A Healthy Derrick Rose’s Bulls Are Better Than LeBron James’ Cavs

This time, we should know better. If there’s one thing sports has consistently taught us over the years, it’s that super teams do not work like magic. Recent history speaks for itself. Gary Peyton and Karl Malone joining Shaq and Kobe didn’t hand the 2004 Lakers an NBA title. Acquiring an ungodly amount of talent, headlined by […]

Russell Westbrook’s Broken Hand Will Certainly Not Help OKC’s Season

When one door closes, another opens. Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end. Despite that being what I’ve learned about life opportunities, I’m having trouble looking on the bright side of Russell Westbrook’s newly broken hand. When a particularly tricky brand of broken foot put Kevin Durant out of commission a few weeks ago, a […]

Amar’e Stoudemire Is Onto Something With These Red Wine Baths

The New York Knicks forward posted this picture on his Instagram account this week. It isn’t the first time he has done this, either. Stoudemire told ESPN that he has been taking these red wine baths for six months. This is strange, for a number of reasons, but Stoudemire says there is a method to […]

Here’s Why The ‘Triangle Offense’ Is A Big Deal For The Knicks This Year

The words “Triangle Offense” truly deserve their place in between these quotation marks. After all, when you think about it, we don’t only use them to simply reference other people’s quotes. We often use quotation marks, especially in finger-motioning form, to point out titles that, despite technically being factual, seem to exaggerate the importance or […]

How Quick Success Can Counterintuitively Be An Athlete’s Kiss Of Death

Sports can take a mental and physical toll. The success, failures and constant inner battles to stay ahead of one’s competition can be a grueling process. This is true to such a great degree that it can force a child to grow up quicker, leaving the responsibility to awaken in the years of pre-pubescence. Both […]

Your Favorite Pokémon Make A Lot Of Sense As US Presidents (Photos)

This next one is silly in the best way possible. An artist by the name of Brandon Dayton mashed up Pokémon characters with American presidents. The results are simply splendid. Dayton imagined your favorite collectible monsters as some of history’s most iconic leaders, and their names are pun-tastic. It’s hard to choose a favorite among […]

Men crack me up – to be fair, myself included. We know exactly the type of girl we’re supposed to be with. We all do. We all know exactly the type of woman we ought to end up with in order to have a happy and healthy relationship. But guess what? We’re not going to […]
