Father Of The Year Saves Son From A Flying Bat During Spring Training Game

Saturday, the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Atlanta Braves faced off in a spring training game, but the most exciting action of the day took place in the stands, not on the field.

Shaun Cunningham and his son were just out to enjoy a baseball game, but this dad soon had to react in a split second in order to stop an errant bat from hitting his 8-year-old son in the face. Thanks to Cunningham's jacked forearm, that's exactly what he did.

This was reportedly Cunningham's son's first live baseball game, and were it not for the reflexes of his dad, it might've been his last. The 8-year-old did reportedly still get hit in the shoulder, but I'd take that over a probable concussion any day of the week.

As for Shaun Cunningham, well, he apparently just has a slight wrist injury. Dad of the year, anyone?
