One of the biggest stories of the weekend just got a little deeper. The death of NFL player Jovan Belcher and the mother of his three month old daughter, Kasandra Perkins.

A friend of Jovan Belcher has been suffering from many concussions and the mixture of prescription drugs and alcohol turned out to be a lethal combination for Belcher.

As the friend described the state of Belcher throughout this season saying that he often was on painkillers and other drugs to cope with the pain the game he plays and drinking often.

With all the stress of being a professional athlete, just add the fact that Belcher was a new parent is doubling his stress levels. Belcher’s friend says that Jovan was dealing with short term memory loss and was often looking very dazed.

Two weeks ago Belcher and his girlfriend separated, but they came reconciled this past week and Belcher shot his girlfriend and then proceeded to drive to Arrowhead Stadium and thank his coaches and GM and went to his car and shot himself.
