Indicted FIFA Exec Cites Article From The Onion During Attack Against US

YouTube

You have to hand it to Jack Warner; he tried to do his research.

Warner, one of the defendants named in the US Department of Justice's indictment accusing several FIFA officials of corruption, posted this video in response to his arrest.

The video is funny as is, but the killer comes around the five-minute mark.

As he carried on with his rant, calling out the US for being a hypocrite and creating a conspiracy out of bitterness after losing the 2022 World Cup to Qatar, Warner cited the most reputable of reputable sources: The Onion.

While holding up a printed copy of one of The Onion's many satirical articles, "FIFA Frantically Announces 2015 Summer World Cup In United States," Warner said,

If FIFA is so bad, why is it that the USA wants to keep the FIFA World Cup? Why is it they began games on May 27? May 27, two days before FIFA elections. Why is it that US authorities sought to embarrass FIFA in Zurich? Something has to be wrong.

The original video has since been removed and replaced with a version that doesn't show this obviously hilarious mistake, but another YouTube user copied the authentic version for the world's viewing pleasure.

Thank you, Internet.
