We're just two days away from the 2016 Summer Olympic Games officially kicking off in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and the level of excitement surrounding the event is reaching a fever pitch.

Sure, there have been numerous reports of poor living conditions for athletes, improper sewage conditions in Rio and doping allegations for nearly the entire Russian Olympic team. But it's time to move past that and focus on the actual Olympics.

We're on the cusp of an event that only takes place once every four years, so let's try to make the most of it. The only way we can do that is by turning our attention to the main focus of the Olympics: the athletes.

Today, I want to shine a light on one of Brazil's own: Olympic volleyball player Jaqueline Carvalho.

Carvalho, 32, is a Recife, Brazil native. And after conquering gold at the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games, she's hoping to continue the trend in Rio this month.

In addition to being a spiking and acing superstar on the volleyball court, Carvalho is also one of the most beautiful athletes competing in the Olympics.

Here's a closer look at why Jaqueline Carvalho is a must-see attraction in Rio:

Jaqueline Carvalho is a 32-year-old volleyball star from Recife, Brazil.

She had the honor of representing her country at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, and at the 2012 Games in London.

Carvalho and her Brazilian teammates won back-to-back gold medals in both '08 and '12.

In addition to winning gold at the Olympics, she's taken home top honors at the World Grand Champions Cup, World Grand Prix, Pan American Games and Final Four Cup.

Jaqueline Carvalho has been playing for the Brazil national team since 2001.

She's won 11 gold medals while wearing the green and yellow of her home nation.

Although volleyball is very much a team sport, Carvalho was awarded "Best Spiker" at the 2010 FIVB World Grand Prix.

A year later, she was crowned the MVP at the South American Club Championship.

In 2012, Carvalho won the "Best Receiver" award at the FIVB Club World Championship.

Carvalho has played volleyball at the club level in Brazil, Italy and Spain. But she started her career in Rio.

This month, she hopes to once again find success in Brazil's liveliest city.
