When news broke earlier that Robinson Cano got a fat $240 million deal for 10-years with the Seattle Mariners, there was no doubting that rookie superstar sports agent Jay Z was the mastermind behind it.

However, things might’ve not gone down as smoothly as we thought. According to the New York Daily News, the Brooklyn legend infuriated Mariners president Howard Lincoln when he made him a counter offer that he just didn’t like.

This comes according to NYDN:

“Cano and his camp arrived in Seattle with what sources described as basically an eight-year deal for $200 million in hand and the assurances that Seattle would go to nine years and $225 million. But when Jay Z then upped the ante to 10 years for $252 million, Mariners president Howard Lincoln apparently ‘exploded,’ according to one of the sources, and ended the meeting.

You aren’t going to be able to mindf*ck everyone in this game, Jay. But the offer they settled on isn’t too bad either. Just a twelve million dollar difference? He’ll make that up in his next endorsement.

A Healthy Derrick Rose’s Bulls Are Better Than LeBron James’ Cavs

This time, we should know better. If there’s one thing sports has consistently taught us over the years, it’s that super teams do not work like magic. Recent history speaks for itself. Gary Peyton and Karl Malone joining Shaq and Kobe didn’t hand the 2004 Lakers an NBA title. Acquiring an ungodly amount of talent, headlined by […]

Russell Westbrook’s Broken Hand Will Certainly Not Help OKC’s Season

When one door closes, another opens. Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end. Despite that being what I’ve learned about life opportunities, I’m having trouble looking on the bright side of Russell Westbrook’s newly broken hand. When a particularly tricky brand of broken foot put Kevin Durant out of commission a few weeks ago, a […]

Byron Scott Is Right: Why Kobe Bryant Would Not Make A Good Coach

A few days ago, current Lakers coach Byron Scott said Kobe Bryant would not make a good coach. He said, He’s too tough… He would probably be a whole lot more demanding than Pat Riley, myself and guys like that. It would be tough. Plus, he would expect guys to play like him, to have […]

19 Miserable Snapchats Girls Send When They Have Their Periods

Is there anything worse for a female than having her period? Well, I guess not getting her period would be worse, but that’s not the point here. Periods suck because they never come at a convenient time (like during the week) and they make us want to crawl out of our skin. Plus, you can bet […]

Hilarious Video Shows The Struggle Of A Black Sushi Chef

Despite our best efforts to get rid of racism and discrimination once and for all, there are certain stereotypes that remain fairly pervasive in modern society. I’m not one of those “stereotypes exist for a reason” people, but (there’s always a “but” after that opening) you probably wouldn’t be morally indigent to suggest that the […]
