Lamar Odom Is 'Slowly Making Progress' After His Near-Death Overdose

by Taylor Ortega

After three days in a coma resulting from a drug overdose last Tuesday in a Nevada brothel, Lamar Odom awoke Friday and has been steadily improving.

The former Laker is reportedly breathing on his own, speaking and has moved from his bed, but he remains on dialysis due to kidney failure.

In an effort to assess the full range of harm caused by the overdose, doctors are testing the 35-year-old for brain damage, among other long-term disabilities.

A source shared with E! News,

Lamar is slowly making progress. Today has been a good day… There's a lot of praying going on.

A neurologist and cardiologist, along with primary and critical care physicians, are attending to the reality TV regular.

His estranged wife, Khloé Kardashian, has reportedly remained by his side.

Odom's two children, Destiny and Lamar Jr., their mother, Liza Morales, and the Kardashian-Jenner clan have visited him to pray for a healthy and swift recuperation.
