Martellus Bennett Says He Used His ‘Spidey-Senses’ To Save A Fan’s Life

You may know Martellus Bennett as the New York Giants’ starting tight end. But did you know that Bennett has saved either five or six lives?

Well, that’s according to Martellus. Yesterday, the self-proclaimed “Black Unicorn” had his latest heroic feat which involved catching a fan who fell 15 feet from the stands after last night’s game against the Green Bay Packers.

“I was doing what I usually do, moseying to the locker room and meandering around,” Bennett said (via USA Today’s Mike Garafolo). “Naturally, I just wanted to step back, but I did the righteous thing and I stepped up. I caught him, I saved his life, I tapped into my inner superhero, which I do have.

“I’m usually a ninja, but my Spidey-senses told me he was going to take a fall, so I saved his life. He owes me his first-born or something. Actually I don’t want that. Maybe a sandwich or something.”

Bennett and the man fell to the ground and Bennett needed an assist himself. “I felt like Prince, because everybody was like, ‘You okay? You okay?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, I’m fine.’ They were helping me up.”

Great story, Martellus. But maybe you should try holding on to the passes thrown to you instead of dropping them all the time.
