This Hot Danish Swimmer Is The One Reason You Need To Watch The Rio Olympics

by Adam Silvers

When I think about the sports I'm most interested in watching at the 2016 Rio Olympics, events like soccer and basketball are definitely at the top of my list.

But after reading about Danish Olympian Pernille Blume, I think I'm going to make it my life's mission to catch every single women's swimming competition.

The 22-year-old Herlev, Denmark native competed in her first Olympics at the 2012 games in London, where she represented her country in five different swimming events.

In 2014, at the World Short Course Championships, Blume and three of her Danish teammates set a world record in the 4 x 50 meter medley relay and took home a gold medal in the 4 x 100 meter medley relay.

Following a win in the 50 meter freestyle event at the Danish Open, Pernille Blume was tapped to compete at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The Dane is clearly a competitor on the rise in the global sport of swimming, and, while it's not the most important thing about her, she's also absolutely gorgeous.

Her radiant smile, toned physique and long blonde hair will definitely make you want to keep an eye out for Pernille Blume. Just make sure you DVR all the events she's competing in, too.

Pernille Blume is a 22-year-old swimming star from Denmark.

She first represented her country in the Olympics in 2012 in London.

In London, Blume competed in five different events for the Danish team.

Though she failed to medal at the 2012 games, Pernille Blume and her teammates did set a Danish national record in the 4 x 100 meter freestyle relay.

Later that year, Blume took home a gold medal at the World Short Course Championship in the same relay event.

In 2014, Blume and her Danish teammates set a world record with their victory in the 4 x 50 meter medley relay at the World Short Course Championships.

Earlier this year, at the Danish Open, the gorgeous Danish swimmer won the 50 meter freestyle event...

...essentially booking her place on the Danish team now set to compete at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

In Brazil, Pernille Blume is slated to compete in four separate swimming events...

...the 50 meter freestyle, 100 meter freestyle, 4 x 100 meter medley relay and the 4 x 100 meter freestyle relay.

Personally, I can't wait to see this smoking-hot blonde Dane take to the water.

If you're wise, you'll make sure you don't miss a second of Pernille Blume's time at the Rio Olympics.
