Meet Peruvian goalkeeper Ángelo Campos.  Ángelo was playing in the CONMEBOL Youth Championship that just got started in Argentina.  Campos made a vital mistake when he came out of the goalie box to play a long pass.

Uruguayan striker Gonzalo Bueno had an open shot on the goal, but Campos made the hustle play of the century.

He jetted back to save the first shot by inches, then hopped up as quick as he could to block the rebound shot.  Just brilliant.  The save kept the game in striking distance for Peru at 3-2.

Later in the contest his teammate Cristian Benavente evened the match on a penalty shot, earning Peru a draw.  Check out the amazing double save below.

James Gilbert

World news writer James Gilbert is one of the oldest on the Elite Daily writing staff, as he is a borderline Gen Y member. All and all, James Gilbert brings that dynamic and balance to the team, rounding out Elite Daily’s Voltron (or that thing the Power Rangers formed for you young whippersnappers.)

Richard Sherman And Patrick Peterson Wage War Over Cornerback Supremacy

This past weekend, the Arizona Cardinals made cornerback Patrick Peterson the highest-paid NFL player of his position. The five-year, $70 million extension barely eclipsed the annual money given to divisional rival Richard Sherman of the Seattle Seahawks. These two have strong careers and are perhaps the best corners in the league — and they know it. TBT: When Going Across The Middle In The NFL Was Suicide (Video)

Being a wide receiver in the National Football League during the 90s required only one thing: balls of steel. Sure, strong hands, precise route running and a big physical body helped, but when it came to crossing over the middle, you could expect a big collision every single time. Rule changes have since protected offensive players […]

John Oliver Perfectly Summarizes Every Fireworks Show From This Fourth Of July

While we recently realized that the Fourth of July might not be as American as most people like to think, that didn’t stop people from going out and celebrating Independence Day like the Founding Fathers intended. Rain put a damper on a lot of people’s original plans, but judging by the multiple explosions outside my […]

#Frenemies: How To Spot Someone Who Doesn’t Have Your Best Interest At Heart

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of being screwed over by a close friend. In a way (a very small way), it’s almost funny, considering our closest friends are typically also supposed to be our “best” friends. Our best friends are supposed to be our most dependable, compassionate, genuine and loyal partners in crime. So […]
