One of the top Detroit Red Wings prospects, 20-year-old Riley Sheahan, is facing charges after driving while “super-drunk” and wearing a Tinky Winky costume.
Authorities say Sheahan had a blood-alcohol content of .30 when he was caught driving while wearing the Teletubbies costume.
Sheahan, the Red Wings’ top draft pick in 2010, is also charged with lying to police when he allegedly claimed to be teammate Brendan Smith after being arrested October 29th in Grand Rapids, where he plays for the AHL’s Griffins.
Some teammate, eh?
This isn’t Sheahan’s first run-in with the law either, as he was previously arrested while a freshman playing at Notre Dame for public drunkenness.
Sheahan has three goals and two assists in 15 games so far this season for the Griffins, and is facing charges under Michigan’s new “super-drunk” law, which classifies those who blow over a .17 on a breathalyzer as such.
