One of the NBA’s all-time biggest draft busts is receiving a second chance. The Cleveland Cavaliers have reportedly offered Greg Oden a two-year deal effective after the February 21 trade deadline expires.
This deal will also included a team option for a third year. Oden’s agent, Mike Conley Sr., revealed:
“Greg has been up there [to Cleveland] before and he’ll probably be up there again in an official capacity”
This report comes a day after Conley pushed the idea of Oden possibly signing with the San Antonio Spurs or Charlotte Bobcats. And a week after Oden’s meeting with the Boston Celtics.
And even a few more weeks after the Cavs and Miami Heat were called the finalists for the former No. 1 pick’s services.
Whatever the case may be, it looks like Mr. Oden is getting one more chance to resurrect his career. And with Kyrie running the show, who knows how this could end up?
