Rasheed Wallace, coming back from the… wherever he was during retirement, to join the Knicks? It sounds like an Isiah Thomas fantasy that only James Dolan would find interesting, but it is apparently closer to reality than you might think, tweets ESPN’s Ric Bucher.

Remember that last season, around January, both the Lakers and Heat took a look at Wallace, then both decided to pass.

I don’t think the question is “can ‘Sheed still help a team as the third big off the bench?” Remember when last we saw ‘Sheed, he was maybe the Celtics’ best player in a Game 7 loss to the Lakers in the 2010 NBA finals. He’s can score and defend in the paint but has shooting range out to the three point line. When he walked away from the game at age 35 he was still a serviceable big man.

The question has been what kind of shape is he in after a couple years off? Let’s be honest, Sheed didn’t exactly love the practice and conditioning parts of the NBA grind before.

He wouldn’t have to play a lot, the Knicks have Tyson Chandler starting at the five and Marcus Cambybehind him, plus they already have Kurt Thomas in the “aging big man who can still play some” slot. Josh Harrellson is gone, so maybe Sheed can be an older version of him.

We’ve been down the “will he/won’t he?” road with Sheed a few times. I’d say it’s not likely, but this is the Knicks. So maybe. Pretty much no outcome would surprise me.

A Healthy Derrick Rose’s Bulls Are Better Than LeBron James’ Cavs

This time, we should know better. If there’s one thing sports has consistently taught us over the years, it’s that super teams do not work like magic. Recent history speaks for itself. Gary Peyton and Karl Malone joining Shaq and Kobe didn’t hand the 2004 Lakers an NBA title. Acquiring an ungodly amount of talent, headlined by […]

Russell Westbrook’s Broken Hand Will Certainly Not Help OKC’s Season

When one door closes, another opens. Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end. Despite that being what I’ve learned about life opportunities, I’m having trouble looking on the bright side of Russell Westbrook’s newly broken hand. When a particularly tricky brand of broken foot put Kevin Durant out of commission a few weeks ago, a […]

Please Make It Stop: Pumpkin Spice Lattes Are Now A Deep-Fried Snack (Photos)

There is only one thing that could make pumpkin spice even better: deep-fried. The Amy, the evil genius behind food blog Oh, Bite It!, recently posted a recipe for deep-fried Pumpkin Spice Latte bites. My mind (and potentially my arteries) can’t even fathom this tasty-looking snack. I can almost smell the cinnamon now. Amy’s taken […]

Wasabi Toothpaste Is A Thing In Japan, But It Shouldn’t Be (Photo)

Toothpaste has pretty much tasted the same for years now. Of course, brands like Crest and Colgate have tried to shake the market up a bit with cinnamon and bubble gum-flavored toothpastes, but, over time, those became pretty basic, too. That’s why Japan is stepping in to create wasabi toothpaste. According to Time, Japanese retailer Village Vanguard […]

Good Guy Cop Buys Car Seat For Struggling Mom After Pulling Her Over

When Lexi DeLorenzo of Emmett Township, MI, saw a police officer’s flashing lights in the rearview mirror, she didn’t know the officer was about to change her life for the better. DeLorenzo had been struggling financially. A few weeks before, her car was repossessed with her young daughter’s car seat inside. She had asked a […]
