Andy Reid is reportedly on his way to becoming the Arizona Cardinals next coach. The Philadelphia Inquirer reported Tuesday that “it is a done deal” and KTVK-TV in Phoenix reported that Reid is “very close” to being named the Cardinals’ coach.

ESPN also reported that there is a “95 percent” chance that Reid will be hired by Arizona.

However, the Arizona Republic said the Cardinals are denying both reports and plan to continue interviewing possible candidates for their vacant coaching and general manager positions.

Reid was fired Monday as coach of the Philadelphia Eagles. The Cardinals’ job opened up when Ken Whisenhunt was dismissed the same day, as was general manager Rod Graves.

Reid coached Philadelphia for 14 years and was let go after a 4-12 season.

Team officials said they interviewed defensive coordinator, Ray Horton, on Tuesday. The interview satisfies the Rooney Rule which requires NFL teams to interview minorities for head-coaching jobs.

Reid is due to interview for the Arizona job on Thursday, according to NFL Network’s Albert Breer.

Suspecting he would be fired by the Eagles, Reid had already started putting together a coaching staff for the 2013 season. According to reports, Cleveland Browns castoffs with a history with Reid who could join him including Pat Shurmur, Brad Childress and general manager Tom Heckert.

Reid has several reasons for his interest in the job. His wife, Tammy, is from the Phoenix area.

He would also be reunited with quarterback Kevin Kolb, whom he drafted and coached in Philadelphia. Team president Michael Bidwill said this week he still believes that Kolb can be an effective starter in the NFL.

A Healthy Derrick Rose’s Bulls Are Better Than LeBron James’ Cavs

This time, we should know better. If there’s one thing sports has consistently taught us over the years, it’s that super teams do not work like magic. Recent history speaks for itself. Gary Peyton and Karl Malone joining Shaq and Kobe didn’t hand the 2004 Lakers an NBA title. Acquiring an ungodly amount of talent, headlined by […]

Russell Westbrook’s Broken Hand Will Certainly Not Help OKC’s Season

When one door closes, another opens. Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end. Despite that being what I’ve learned about life opportunities, I’m having trouble looking on the bright side of Russell Westbrook’s newly broken hand. When a particularly tricky brand of broken foot put Kevin Durant out of commission a few weeks ago, a […]

How Social Media Makes Us See Ourselves Through The Eyes Of Other People

If you’ve never heard of the likes-to-minutes ratio on Instagram, allow me to explain. Apparently, once you put a photo on Instagram, an invisible clock begins that tracks the amount of time that passes in relation to the amount of likes your picture gets. Obviously, a high likes-to-minutes ratio is ideal for the coolest of […]

NYPD Threw Masks And Gloves From Ebola Scene In Street Garbage Can

NYPD officers who helped seal off the apartment of Ebola patient Dr. Craig Spencer last night were seen removing gloves and masks and placing them in a public trash can. What seems like an unspeakable act of ignorance is actually nothing to worry about, however, as the officers most likely did not enter Spencer’s apartment […]

Ladies, Stop Saying You Can’t: 3 Times Women Literally Can, And Should

Ladies, what can’t we do? According to society, media and ourselves, a lot. The ideas, “you can’t,” “I can’t” and “we can’t,” are phrases often said to and by women. This happens because the world values twerking over teaching, and thigh gaps over wage gaps. And we’re (partly) to blame. The “I can’t do (math, humor, sports)” phenomenon […]

There’s Actually A US Town With Absolutely No WiFi Or Cell Phones

If you’ve ever dreamed of a simpler lifestyle — say, one without cell phones and Internet — you needn’t move to Amish country to get a taste of life without modern conveniences. There is a town in West Virginia that has no WiFi access or cellular service — at all. Pocahontas County is in the National Radio […]

Baby Flexing In The Mirror With His Dad Is Absolutely Adorable (Video)

Considering most babies lack the power to lift their heads off the ground for more than a second, they generally make pretty terrible bodybuilders (and don’t even get me started on their dead lift form). However, being bad at something usually doesn’t stop people from trying it anyway. This baby might not have the most […]
