The Stanford Cardinals proved why they are the top team in the Pac 12 with a very convincing win over Oregon that had their opponents literally in tears.

And while they showed that head coach David Shaw is running a finely tuned machine over in Palo Alto even after the departure of Jim Harbaugh to the NFL, it was the post game presser where the stars really shined.

You can’t be just the typical meathead at Stanford University, you need to be outstanding in academia too. And it’s because of that they often get some hate — for being smart. Hey, this the world we live in today!

Senior linebacker Shayne Skov, sophomore linebacker AJ Tarpley and senior running back Tyler Gaffney all showed up with “nerd” glasses, you know with the tape in the middle, to prove that you can have the brains to go with the braun.

No one’s laughing at them now. They could very well wear these on their way to the National Title game in January.
