There is a whole lot of pressure on young Robert Griffin III’s shoulders this upcoming season. Not only has a franchise and city invested in him for the next several years, but now the ultimate curve ball is headed his way — marriage.

That’s right, the hottest quarterback in the league is getting hitched. He is taking the hand of long-time girlfriend Rebecca Liddicoat in marriage. As of this coming summer, RGIII will no longer be on the market. On paper at least.

The pair got engaged a year and a half ago in October of 2011, and Griffin’s mother revealed the big news to Fox5 in Washington DC. She went on to say that her son was “not afraid to show who he is.” Shout out to mom! The big day is set for July 6.

While this is surely big news for Robert and his family, it is the 2013-14 season that he is probably most concerned about. Coming off of a devastating ACL and LCL injury, RGIII looks to bounce back better than ever.

Can he recreate some of the magic that Adrian Peterson experienced last season in Minnesota after nearly breaking the single-season rushing record a year removed from injury? Or will he suffer from a sophomore slump and continue the tradition of mediocre Redskins football?

Only time will tell. But until then, I’m sure RG isn’t thinking too hard about it. He has a beautiful new wife, contract and future. Not to mention all of the groupies that he will continue to share in DC with John Wall. You already know what it is.
