Tim Tebow is undoubtedly the most popular football player on the planet — without a job, that is. After a disgrace of a season in New York with the Jets, he looks to bounce back and earn some playing time elsewehere. The only question is, where?
In a season full of uncertainties, one thing remains clear: Commissioner Roger Goodell wants him on an NFL roster. Where, however, has yet to be decided, but Goodell surely understands the benefit and impact of having Tebow in the league.
Simply put, there has never been a player like him before. A man of faith, hard work and integrity. You just don’t get that these days. And although he was cut by the Jets, Goodell still sees hope in the third-year quarterback.
“Well, he’s a great young man. And I try to stay out of the decisions about who should be playing in the NFL and on what team. But as a young man, he’s just a super young guy, and I sure hope he’s part of the NFL going forward.
He’s just a terrific young man and represents all of the values that I think all of our players do.
I’m very proud of our players. I think, as a group, they’re extraordinary young men, and I love to see the things they’re doing in the community. They’re obviously great athletes on the field, but these are great young men, and Tim’s a good example of that.”
Roger said it clearly himself and it looks like he may have built some emotional connection with Tim as his praise goes beyond just football. While this isn’t one of his main priorities heading into next season, you can bet to see his wish come true with an NFL franchise investing in Tebow.
