Pittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby told reporters Friday that he will play Game 2 of the playoff series against the New York Islanders.

Crosby returned to practice almost two weeks ago but has not played since March 30 because of a broken jaw. The Penguins won Game 1 of the series 5-0 on Wednesday. Game 2 is Friday at 7 p.m. in Pittsburgh.

The Penguins star had a series of dental procedures since getting hit in the face against the Islanders and missed the final 12 games of the regular season. Despite that, he finished third in the NHL with 56 points.

Crosby will wear a protective cage as a safety measure. Forward James Neal is not expected to play because of an undisclosed injury he sustained in the second period of Game 1.
