It is safe to say that basketball is not what it once was. It is no longer a sport with grown men battling to get into the lane and score the ball, nor is it filled with vicious battles for rebounds as it was in the 90s. The players are beginning to look more involved in a dancing competition than in an athletic competition. It’s as if the sport has taken a page out of soccer’s book and has become a flopping fest.

While flops may be perfectly timed in order to get a particular call, they are without a doubt watering down the game. Certain players have gained notorious reputations for flopping. In order to deal with this problem, the league has decided to punish the floppers. They have instituted a flopping fine that issues charges to players who are caught flopping.

Although the fine has been implemented multiple times throughout the year, it seems that players have responded by becoming craftier when it comes to flopping technique. Some common floppers should win Oscars for their performances, and you may surprised to know that some of your favorite players are repeat offenders of the flop.
