The Oscar Pistorious Trial is in its fourth week, as the South African courts seek justice for Reeva Steenkamp.

In February 2013, the world famous Paralympian shot his longtime girlfriend several times, to her death, purportedly believing she was an intruder who had locked his or herself into the bathroom.

The pair’s relationship was definitely a rocky one. This missive was released as a court document during the trial, and it shows a woman desperately trying to understand why the man she loves can treat her so hatefully at times.

She clearly elucidates troubling double standards in their relationship, a clear and unhealthy power imbalance in what should be a level dialogue.

While this letter does not automatically implicate Pistorious as the willful murderer, it does paint the portrait of a man with a short temper, disregard for the other’s humanity, a history of condescension and spite.

No one should put up with that sort of disrespect in a relationship; everyone deserves to be treated with respect and have a clear dialogue on personal issues.

I do me, you do you, but let’s do us together.

If WWE Raw Were A Sitcom, This Would Be The Perfect Intro (Video)

We already know that professional wrestling is the greatest soap opera on television, but what if matches actually had the cheesy sitcom intros? The WWE did a brilliant job of creating one for Monday Night Raw and it’s surprisingly perfect. With John Cena and AJ Lee as stars, this would probably be a show worth […]

Richard Sherman And Patrick Peterson Wage War Over Cornerback Supremacy

This past weekend, the Arizona Cardinals made cornerback Patrick Peterson the highest-paid NFL player of his position. The five-year, $70 million extension barely eclipsed the annual money given to divisional rival Richard Sherman of the Seattle Seahawks. These two have strong careers and are perhaps the best corners in the league — and they know it. […]

TBT: When Going Across The Middle In The NFL Was Suicide (Video)

Being a wide receiver in the National Football League during the 90s required only one thing: balls of steel. Sure, strong hands, precise route running and a big physical body helped, but when it came to crossing over the middle, you could expect a big collision every single time. Rule changes have since protected offensive players […]

If You Commit Any Of These Fashion Faux Pas, I Probably Hate You

Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld once said, “Sweatpants are a sign of defeat. You lost control of your life so you bought some sweatpants.” There has never been a quote that resonates with me more. We all have pet peeves, and most of mine are related to fashion. I could write a novel on how poorly […]

“The Simpsons” has been on the air for 25 years, so they’ve done pretty much everything. But this fall, they’ll do something they’ve never done before: a crossover episode with “Family Guy.” That’s right: The Griffins will meet the Simpsons in Springfield. The episode will be an hour-long special. In it, Peter and Homer hit […]

The Microwave That Counts Calories Won’t Make Us Healthier, Just More Insecure

Leftover Chinese won’t be as appetizing the second time around. Researchers at General Electric have developed a tool that can quickly measure the calories in your food by utilizing three pieces of information: fat content, water content and weight. (The calories from all the other constituents of food — such as sugar, fiber and protein […]
