The Oscar Pistorious Trial is in its fourth week, as the South African courts seek justice for Reeva Steenkamp.

In February 2013, the world famous Paralympian shot his longtime girlfriend several times, to her death, purportedly believing she was an intruder who had locked his or herself into the bathroom.

The pair’s relationship was definitely a rocky one. This missive was released as a court document during the trial, and it shows a woman desperately trying to understand why the man she loves can treat her so hatefully at times.

She clearly elucidates troubling double standards in their relationship, a clear and unhealthy power imbalance in what should be a level dialogue.

While this letter does not automatically implicate Pistorious as the willful murderer, it does paint the portrait of a man with a short temper, disregard for the other’s humanity, a history of condescension and spite.

No one should put up with that sort of disrespect in a relationship; everyone deserves to be treated with respect and have a clear dialogue on personal issues.

I do me, you do you, but let’s do us together.

The episode began once Abdullah intercepted a pass […]

I Guess No One Noticed Alaska Legalized Weed Almost 40 Years Ago

In the not-so-distant future, campaigns for legalizing weed will be a thing of the past. Most states have loosened their possession laws already, and it’s only a matter of time until marijuana is legalized across the board. Some states, including Colorado and Washington, already legalized the drug. Other states are fighting to do the same. […]
