There isn’t quite a more troubled player in all of sports than NFL wide receiver Titus Young. We all knew he was off his rocker when he was dropped by the Detroit Lions for intentionally lining during the game, but now his string of arrests in the past two weeks confirms his insanity.
He is continuing his hot streak, getting arrested for the fourth time in just nine days. Damn dude, relax! This time Titus was caught burglarizing a convenience store in Los Angeles. For a bottle of water and a piece of candy, of course. Classy.
On the 2 burglary charges against Titus Young from May 4, he was charged today for stealing a bottle of water & candy from a Chevron.

This is the third burglary charge for the 23-year-old with the fourth a result of driving under the influence. Why he is doing all this has yet to be established, but if one thing is for certain, it’s that he has some kind of brain disorder.
At least that’s what his father says. This is a kid who is deeply troubled and cannot control his life. He even admitted to his dad that he has a problem and cannot describe why he committing these crimes. Richard Young revealed this exchange to the Detroit Free Press:
I hope they just forgive Titus because this ain’t none of Titus, it wasn’t none of his fault. I look at my son right now, I don’t see my son. That’s not my son. I know my son. Titus is not the boy I really raised, I’m saying the way he act, the way he intermix in society right now.
He shut down, he look through you, it’s like he’s depressed. He don’t like to watch TV, he don’t like to get involved with music that much. And these are the things that you’vegot to know what’s going on in the world. Cause we in the world, you’ve got to have a relationship with the world. You’ve got to deal with people. I don’t know, but we’ve been trying to get him help.
He even revealed a little of what Titus himself said.
“‘Daddy, I don’t know what’s going on with me.’”
“He said, ‘I don’t feel good.’ He just started crying. He said, ‘I just don’t feel good. I’m not myself, I don’t feel good, Dad. I don’t know what’s happening to me.”
As heartbreaking as the interaction is to hear, this recent arrest proves that he does not care about getting his life back together. Young’s parents should seriously consider refusing to bail him out anymore until he is mentally stable enough to assimilate back into society.
Titus has surely ruined any chance of a team taking him back as he has gone too far on this path to self-destruction. It’s sad to see a player with so much potential fall so far, but this is real life and sometimes athletes aren’t made for it.
