If you were watching the the San Francisco 49ers and New England Patriots game last night then you surely saw Barack Obama interrupt the first quarter with a brief speech live from Newtown, Connecticut regarding the shootings.

And while they did announce they would switch the game to another channel for the duration of his message many people, mainly on Twitter, grew upset and voiced their racist and inappropriate opinions.

It is sad to see that people care more about a football game than the victims of such a horrendous tragedy. This is a sampling of some of the ignorance that took place last night.

A Healthy Derrick Rose’s Bulls Are Better Than LeBron James’ Cavs

This time, we should know better. If there’s one thing sports has consistently taught us over the years, it’s that super teams do not work like magic. Recent history speaks for itself. Gary Peyton and Karl Malone joining Shaq and Kobe didn’t hand the 2004 Lakers an NBA title. Acquiring an ungodly amount of talent, headlined by […]

Russell Westbrook’s Broken Hand Will Certainly Not Help OKC’s Season

When one door closes, another opens. Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end. Despite that being what I’ve learned about life opportunities, I’m having trouble looking on the bright side of Russell Westbrook’s newly broken hand. When a particularly tricky brand of broken foot put Kevin Durant out of commission a few weeks ago, a […]

Debunking 4 Popular (And Bogus) Reasons To Oppose Same-Sex Marriage

The Supreme Court recently refused to hear five states’ appeals to uphold their bans on same-sex marriage. This effectively legalized same-sex marriage in all five of those states — Indiana, Oklahoma, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin – and perhaps, will legalize it in six more. Pending further hindrances, lifting the bans means same-sex couples can now legally wed in […]

Real-Life Batman Visits Sick Children With His Homemade Batmobile (Photos)

Bruce Wayne hid behind his Batman mask, but real-life superhero Zac Mihajlovic isn’t afraid to show his face. That’s because he is  fulfilling the wishes of sick children across Australia. Mihajlovic, 29, spent two years building his very own Batmobile from scratch. The street-ready vehicle is an exact replica of the one shown in 1989’s […]

The Inevitable ‘Sexy’ Ebola Containment Suit Costume Has Arrived (Photo)

Ebola is the hot buzzword on everyone’s mind as Halloween approaches, meaning all of those people who pride themselves on their ability to come up with topical Halloween costumes are trying to figure out an original way to be cliché. There’s not normally a lot of crossover between the aforementioned group and the people who […]

Chinese security workers performed absurdly scrupulous body searches on 10,000 doves as a security measure one day before the country’s National Day holiday. According to CBS News, the doves were released at sunrise on October 1 to celebrate the holiday, a gathering in Beijing’s Tiananmen Square honoring the 65th anniversary of the creation of the […]
