4 Healthy, Easy And Extremely Delicious Holiday…

by Roxanna Nowrouzi

It's that time of year again.

The holidays are here, and aside from the fact that you're still single and need to buy everyone and their mother a gift, you're surrounded by voluminous amounts of irresistible desserts.

Which, of course, is code for calories.

You're backed into a corner and don't know what to do.

I mean, I don't blame you; Williams Sonoma Peppermint Bark happens to be one of my favorite holiday treats.

It also happens to be 5,000 calories.

So what are you going to do about it? Treat yo' self does not apply to this situation.

I don't want to give you the wrong impression here.

I'm not trying to sell you short or discourage you from indulging in a few well-deserved treats.

I'm just trying to steer you toward eating mindfully and intuitively.

Mindful eating is not a concept that is difficult to grasp, yet it is so overlooked.

When one eats mindfully, they without judgment have an awareness of all the different components that are influencing their eating, such as emotions, accessibility, food preferences and timing.

The next time you have the desire to eat something sweet, meditate and figure out where this craving is coming from.

What makes you crave certain sweets?

Is it an activity or a mood that is the trigger? Would you be satisfied with a bowl of berries, or must you devour a cheesecake?

Deep, right?

So you're probably thinking, now what?

How is this an attainable goal when there are so many temptations constantly haunting us?

Well, my friends, I have some good news for you.

This holiday season, ditch the few extra pounds, and keep calm with these four healthy holiday dessert recipes.

Forget the store-bought desserts and replace them with a healthier, more nutritious version.

These desserts are 100 percent dairy-free, gluten-free, soy-free and free of refined sugars.

They are not taste-free, though, I promise.

So indulge with style and finesse this holiday season with these recipes from Skinny Betch Bowl.

Peppermint Bark

Skinny Betch Bowl

This is comparable to the widely popular William Sonoma peppermint bark. I unbiasedly can officially put it in second place.

Introducing my version of peppermint bark: Only five ingredients and based solely on coconut byproducts.

Gingerbread Cookies

Skinny Betch Bowl

Now here comes the holiday favorite: gingerbread cookies, or better known as "500 calories covered in icing cookies."

Test out my version, and save the remaining 402 calories for later.

Cozy Hot Chocolate

Skinny Betch Bowl

This is the ultimate basic b*tch warm winter drink, other than famous Pumpkin Spice Latte.

It's simple and delicious, and it only takes three ingredients to satisfy your cravings.

My personal favorite, the raw brownie.
