Aura photography and aura readings are all the rage these days.
Making their way into the mainstream, art projects like Radiant Human have sold out events at The Whitney and have drawn hoards of celebrities like Alexander Wang and Zosia Mamet.

That's all well and good, but not everyone knows how to read aura photography.
So, here are the basics, in case you're interested in getting your own photo taken, or you just want to be able to understand those famous celebs on a more spiritual level:
These auras are found in healers and those who are trained to work with and understand the body's energy fields.
They are very in tune with nature and their surroundings, and they are connected to the earth in ways most people are not.
Yellow has a specific physical correlation to the spleen and to the person's energy source, aka “chi.”
People with yellow auras are optimistic, enthusiastic and playful.
Bright yellow means you're currently experiencing a spiritual awakening. You have a playful spirit, and you're a naturally engaging person who has the courage of your convictions.
Dark yellow with tinges of brown means you're a student, a type A personality. You feel pressured to achieve your goals, and you may be an only sibling or the oldest sibling in your family.
But, the brown indicates you've lost your love of learning, and studying has become a tiresome chore.
Lemon yellow represents a fear of loss. You may fear losing what you have or not having what you want.
Pale yellow means you've recently embarked on a spiritual journey, and you may be on your way to discovering latent psychic abilities.
Orange is associated with confidence, independence and creativity.
Bright orange is the shade indicates good health, vibrancy and living life to its fullest, but an overabundance of this hue in your aura could indicate you're trying to overcome an addiction.
Orangey-red means you wield great personal power and walk through life with the confidence of those who win.
Orange-yellow indicates you have a scientific mind, a love for detailed work and love to engage in mentally challenging projects.
Red is one of the most powerful colors found in an aura. It can be a positive or a negative element, a vibration of action with the ability to either attract or repel.
Those with red auras are associated with strength, leadership and passion.
Dark red means you're centered and grounded to the earth, self-sufficient and able to survive any circumstance.
Bright red means you are very passionate, sexual, full of energy and competitive.
Clouded red represents a negative energy with deep-seated anger.
Pink indicates an artist, a sensual person who appreciates the finer things in life.
If you've recently fallen in love, you'll have a significant amount of pink in your aura. Psychically gifted people also have pink auras.
Dark pink, however, indicates deceit, dishonesty and an immature person.
If your aura is blue, you're intuitive and you love helping people. You remain calm during a crisis, and others lean on you for support.
You're very nurturing and loyal.
Royal blue means you are a highly developed spiritual intuitive. You have a very generous and giving spirit, and you are always open to new possibilities.
Dark blue, even cloudy, means you don't trust the future and can't face the truth because of your desire to take control.
Light blue, though, indicates you're truthful and a gifted communicator. You would excel in media communications, as a writer or as a public speaker.
Green is the color of the heart usually found within the aura of healers, teachers and people who work for the public good.
They represent growth, ambition and determination.
Forest green is the color of those who are natural healers, while dark or cloudy green indicates a jealous person full of resentment who refuses to accept responsibility for his or her own actions.
Turquoise is an aura color of someone who helps others discover their inner truths. This is usually found in doctors, healers and counselors.
Purple is associated with the pituitary gland, pineal gland and the nervous system.

Violet is the color of visionaries of the highest level. You're someone who can daydream and change the world with spiritual love.

Silver and gold
Silver and gold auras are rare colors to find in someone's aura. They're considered to be associated with positive spiritual vibrations.
Silver is the color of abundance. If shiny and bright, it indicates you have great physical and spiritual wealth.
Gold is an indication that you have angels and other divine entities protecting you. You're being mentored and guided to reach beyond yourself.

Black, grey or brown
Black auras indicate you're holding on to negative feelings. Typically, it indicates an unwilling and unforgiving spirit.
This color can also indicate that disease is being held in certain regions of the body.
Other dark colors can be indicators of blocked energy centers within the body or illnesses forming due to negative energy
A grey aura indicates blocked energy fields and a refusal to trust other people or even the process of life.
Dark or murky brown is associated with a fear of letting go and of sharing yourself with other people.
White typically indicates a newness and purity.
It can be found in highly spiritual people who've transcended the physical or in those who are preparing to… well, die, but really to ascend to a higher plane of existence.
In religious texts, white auras can be seen surrounding angelic beings.
