Lifestyle — How To Deal With Your Stress So You Don't Burn Out
by Sierra Jiminez

Stress can do some crazy things to the body. Whether you've recently gone through a pretty serious trauma or you're just overworked at the office, the act of being stressed is enough to make you feel like you want to rip your hair out.

Sometimes you may not even realize you're stressed until your body gives off some serious signals. Weight gain, acne, a sudden sweet tooth and even just a general sense of not feeling “put together” are all telltale signs you're stressed out.

While we may not be able to cure your stress 100 percent, here are a few tips and tricks to better deal with your worries.

Set a routine.

I don't know about you, but nothing irks me more than starting my morning off by digging through a pile of laundry looking for something to wear.

Little things in your life like waking up late, not having an organized space or keeping an irregular sleep schedule can add up to cause major stress on the mind.

So, if you're trying to de-stress your life, having a routine is essential. Try laying out your clothes the night before and sticking to a regular bedtime for a start.

Exercise

It may seem obvious, but  exercise is just as good for your mind as it is for your physical being.

Even if you don't have time for a sweat-drenched workout, try scheduling in a short walk to get some fresh air and clear your mental state.

Watch What You Eat

It may be hard to curb those sugar cravings, but by staying on track with a healthy eating plan, you're giving your body the proper nutrition for a successful day.

Avoid things like caffeine and alcohol, which can actually help trigger stress symptoms.
