If You Want Glowing Skin, You Should Stick To Drinking This Type Of Alcohol

by Leigh Weingus

Hangovers are the worst. Your head hurts, your stomach hurts and you can't even look at your phone because you sent some really bad texts to your ex last night.

To top it all off, you look like absolute sh*t. Your skin has a dull, grayish hue, and you have some angry-looking pimples developing on your chin.

Yep, alcohol wreaks havoc on your skin, and this is mostly because alcohol dehydrates you. While giving it up entirely would make your skin super happy, you have to live your life.

But, you can choose wisely.

According to one nutritionist, clear alcohols are generally the way to go for healthier skin. Jairo Rodriguez told Vogue,

Different alcohols have different effects on the skin, but as a general rule, the clearer, the better: Vodka, gin and tequila get out of your system quicker. If you're going to drink anything, in my opinion, drink vodka that doesn't have a grain in it, like a potato vodka. It's a lot clearer and smoother, so it gets in and out of your body, no problem.

In other words, while whiskey and wine are fun, they're probably not the best options if you want glowing skin.

While I could continue to lecture you on why alcohol makes you look and feel like sh*t, let's be real, you're tired of hearing about it, and you're still feeling a little guilty about what your Saturday night looked like.

Instead, I'll tell you some more good news about one of the alcohols Rodriguez mentioned: tequila.

While you should obviously drink it in moderation, tequila is actually one of the best alcohols for you. Tequila can help lower blood sugar, help you lose weight, treat colds and help you fall asleep.

Listen, I'm the first to admit getting drunk is fun as f*ck, and I want you to have a good time -- just make wise alcohol-related choices if you want to look and feel your best.
